Boiler Scale Removal Chemical

Chemworld 1394 is an All-in-One All-Polymer internal treatment product. Chemworld 1394 includes polymer for deposit control, alkalinity builder for maintaining the boiler alkalinity, and sulfite for removing oxygen from the boiler water. Chemworld 1394 does not include neutralizing amine which, if required, should be fed in combination with this product to maintain condensate quality. Chemworld 1394 is typically used in systems with make-up water that has not been softened.

• Feedrates: 1100 to 3300 ppm should be sufficient when specified operating conditions are met.
• Maximum feedwater hardness is 5 ppm as CaCO3 for minimum recommended treatment concentration.
• For those that want more details of control: P' Alkalinity in the range of 300 to 600 ppm; SO3 residual 5 - 20 ppm , and Make-up 'M' Alk = 15 - 50 ppm as CaCO3.
• Maximum 20 - 50 Cycles.
• For condensate returns > 60%.

How do I remove boiler scale?
You have three choices for removing boiler scale. You can retube the boiler, acid clean the boiler, or use this boiler chemical in place of your existing phosphate chemical. This product is an acidic polymer and it will slowly dissolve existing boiler scale.

How much of this product do I feed?
Generally, you feed this product at double the amount you would a phosphate chemical. So if you are using 1 gallon a week of phosphate, feed 2 gallons of this product. Removing light scale is easy and this product will dissolve it before your next boiler inspection. If you have 1/8 inch scale, it will take much longer.

What else do I need to do in order to remove boiler scale?
First, determine why there is boiler scale on the tubes. Is it really old or is it fresh boiler scale? Make sure your softener is working properly. If you do not have a softener, purchase and install one. You need to close the front door and stop letting calcium in magnesium in your boiler. Always perform a hardness test check on not only the softened water, but the boiler water to ensure no upsets occurred with the softener between checks. If you have hardness in the boiler, you need to trouble shoot your softener ASAP.
