Neptune Filter Feeders
What is a Neptune filter feeder? A Neptune Filter Feeder is a bypass feeder that is installed in hot water and cold water closed loop systems. It comes with a stainless steel dissolving basket that holds and fully supports the filter bag inside. The Filter Feeders features a ring-top handle for easy removal. The water enters through the top and exists through the bottom. This allows particles to be collected within the filter bag.
Do the filter bags come with the Neptune filter feeders? No, all bags must be purchase separately.
What size filter bags comes with the filter feeders? 1, 5, 20, and 50 micron bags may be purchase. The diameter of a human hair is 100 micron, so keep this in mind when selecting filter bags.
What are the advantages of filtering my closed loop system? If you have debris within your closed loop, you may experience erosion from the debris flowing within the system. Erosion may lead to premature failure of elbows and pipes within your closed loop system. Within cold loop systems, filter bags may be used to remove sources of food for bacteria development. Bacteria within a cold loop system may lead to under deposit corrosion and premature failure of pipes.
What is the difference between a Neptune "HP" and "DB" Series? "DBÓ models type feeders have a full bottom drain and sit directly on the floor. "HP" models feature a welded base to allow bolting to the floor or other mounting surface. Four holes for 3/8" bolts are provided on each feeder Anchor Bolt Plate. I have a a large closed loop chiller or hot water boiler system that requires extensive clean out. What feeder do you recommend using? Model FTF-5150HP and FTF-5150DB features oversized 1 1/2" inlet and outlet connections. Use these models for system cleanup where high flow rates and fast clean-up are desired or during new water system flush-outs prior to start-up.
What volume sizes do the filter feeders come in? The filter feeders start at 2 gallons and range to 7.5 gallons in size. For larger systems, purchase the larger units.
